Substituting for Adults
I often tell my high school students that you can’t always count on adults to act like adults. This is true of all life settings, but it holds true in high school as well. My advice to students is they’ll need to “step up” and be the adult in the absence of adult behavior. You\ll actually need to model a level-headedness and a resistance to escalating conflicts for the adults.
