Dude – This is the Pace

I had just moved up to the varsity level on my school’s cross country running team. In the middle of a race I asked a teammate, “When is the lead pack going to settle into the race pace?”
His response was true at that moment just as I have found it to be in life. . . . “Dude! This *is* the pace”.
